KAY JOHNSON
Kay started at Northwoods as an apprentice in 2020 and graduated to a tattoo artist in 2022. She enjoys creating traditional style tattoos with a colorful twist, neo traditional style tattoos, bold illustrative designs, and she specializes in Pokémon and cartoon media, video games & anime, animals and pet portraits. As a teen, Kay attended an art course at Interlochen Center for the Arts and was given a “top 50 in the state of Michigan” award by the Michigan Art Education Association. She attended Visual Imaging Technology at the CTC followed by classes at NMC in Western Art History. Kay is passionate about using her tattooing as a platform to create opportunities to donate to animal conservation organizations and social causes. At home she spends time with her daughter, her boyfriend, and their many pets and enjoys experimenting with many different mediums of creativity and art.
